New updates and improvements to 96*
Player stats
New
We love live scoring, the joy of being the scorer, and the delight of spectating with live scores. But, after the season is done, we all want our stats.
Now, we have our stats. Go to any match, and you can click on the team name or any player name and go through to their profile page.
The team page has tabs for team match results, as well as batting and bowling figures for the players.
The player profile page lists the batting and bowling figures for all their innings.

Commentary
New
This week we launch our first stab at live commentary. We think we’re the first live online scoring app for local cricket with commentary.
To make yourself the commentator, go to the “Roles” tab in a match.
It’s a tricky one: how to make it simple/fast to describe the game, and to encourage only positive/neutral commentary.
Our first attempt will be to offer an AI assisted commentary system: click a couple buttons to describe the ball, the AI will suggest some commentary, and you can pick one. Or not. You know, if it’s rubbish.
Also, we have added a thanks/testimonial tab to every game. These nice comments about 96* or the scorer/commentators/players will also be included as live commentary.

Dark mode
New
If you are a lover of dark mode — and you have it turned on as your system default on your phone/tablet/laptop — you will have noticed that 96* site has been overhauled to give you love. Dark mode for everyone (who wants it).
In future we’ll add support for manually toggling dark/light modes too. For now, it is enabled based on system preferences.

Privacy by default
Improvement
We have kids; and we want to see our kids' scores on 96notout. To do that, we need to start with privacy first approach.
Whenever a new player is added to a team, we generate them a random name. Something like "Bob Crocodile". The scorer can see the real name, so they can score, but everyone else see's Bob Crocodile.
The player or parents can then click on their name, and sign a consent approval for us to show their real name.
We don't yet allow you to change your real name to Bob Crocodile.

Playground to try scoring
New
Until now, you could only experience the delightful 96notout scoring system if you were the designated scorer at a game.
No longer! Anyone can go to the Playground and create a demo match and try out the scoring system.
Remember some crazy thing from a game once? Check whether 96notout covers all the edge cases!
Think that a wide that goes for a boundary is only 4 wides? That's not right. It is 5 wides. Not at all related to the Playground. Just wanted to share it. Check out the MCC Rules of Cricket section on Wide balls.
